Leonard Stanley Craft Fayre

Leonard Stanley Village Hall
Although the day started off busily I did get an enforced break. For some bizarre reason I left the house an hour early. I arrived over an hour earlier than Terry, not that I realised why until I phoned him thinking he was late.
Once he arrived and then got the keys for the hall we got busy setting up the tables. At our first fayre, which was also at Leonard Stanley we didn’t set up the tables, we let stallholders choose where they went. It was a bit haphazard and because the hall has doorways that can’t be blocked and an alcove it didn’t make the best use of the available space. The layout worked much better this time.
We had two new stallholders at this fayre Sarah with her unique nappy cake stall. The cakes are not edible as both Terry and I thought, which is why we put Sarah’s stall next to the refreshments. Duh! They are made up with items suitable for babies, nappies, booties, vest, face cloths etc. Check out Sarah’s website to get a much better idea of what she has on offer.

The second new stallholder was Kelly who runs Happy Holistics. It was lovely to meet her and to see her wonderful handmade natural organic range of beauty products. Her bath bombs were beautiful and the natural fragrances used perfumed the hall delightfully.
Trish Lear with her hand knitted bags and cushions whom we met last Saturday at the Minchinghampton Craft Fayre was also there. This time she brought along some gorgeous mice which she’d knitted. They sold well – One little girl only had 15p but wanted one so persuaded her brother to buy her one. The rest of the mouse sales went to adults including yours truly.

It was great to meet up with the “regulars”, Ronald and his wood turning, Phoenix cards and Jenny with her Usborne books.

Altogether it was a good afternoon – the weather stayed fine, we had a steady stream of visitors and as always it was lovely to talk to them.
This fayres sales were different again for me, last week I sold a lot of mini collectable ornaments and the Swarovski or Gemstone sterling silver earrings from the “Tree” in the vase. This week it was all bookmarks, handbags charms, hair accessories and silver plated jewellery. Every fayre is different; it makes it interesting to see what will catch people’s fancy on the day.
All the photos were taken just before the Fayre started, that stage when everything is set up and we are waiting for the first visitors to arrive. I don’t know if the others feel the same but I always feel a sense of relief and that I can relax and then enjoy whatever the fayre brings.

Another excellent Blog Anna. And, as always, another fabulous craft fayre. The layout worked really well, and it was nice to see people sitting down and having cups of tea and cake.
The photo you took of my stall has now made my mind up.. I need some big tablecloths to cover the tables and to hide the boxes underneath! Thats now my project!
